Beauty Post: My Ear Surgery

As most people know I work in the beauty industry and will soon be starting a degree in fashion and sometimes being constantly surrounded by beautiful people with perfect features and perfect bodies can make you become more aware of how you look.

Since I've known what ears were I've always hated mine, they weren't big in size however they did used to stick out allot. When you're a beauty junkie like me planning hairstyles around covering your ears really isn't all that fun and constantly being called 'dumbo' as a kid also isn't all that fantastic either!
So after all my teenage years of hating my ears, trying all kinds of headbands and even gluing my ears to my head! I decided to have some surgery to put them in the right place.

Despite what people may think no, the procedure does not stick you're ears to your head, It is called an Otoplasty. It simply removes a small area of skin, reshapes the cartilage and stitches them back up into the new shape, all whilst either keeping or re shaping the creases and folds in the ear.

I chose to have my surgery with the Hospital Group after many different consultations and review reads. My Surgeon was the amazing Dr Payne (ironic I know) amazing cosmetic surgeon with a long list of surgeries, including Amy Childs boob job!, and one of the nicest people I've ever met. He was so thorough and understanding throughout the whole consultation and on the day of surgery.

I chose to have a local anaesthetic, so yes I was awake for the surgery. However Mr Payne and his nurses made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. The surgery took just over an hour to do then into recovery I went and I was home by 7:00pm that same evening, with ALLOT of painkillers!

After he had finished the surgery I was all taped up for 8 days in this rather beautiful bandage pictured below, the injections had made my face go a bit puffy so thats why I look a bit like an alien :)

Here are some pictures of before and right after my surgery.

These Photo's were before and then 8 days later when my bandages came off. The photograph at the bottom is as soon as my bandages were off so still swollen and bruised, the photo below that is my ear now 4 weeks after my procedure.

I couldn't be happier with the service I received from the Hospital group and Mr Payne if I ever have any more surgery in the future it will 1000% be with him. This has made me a more confident person and I don't have a single complaint. But only ever have surgery for YOU to make you feel better and happier. Its allot of pain and money so I do recommend and I am a supporter of cosmetic procedures but only for the right reason and that being to make YOU a happier person!

I hope you all enjoyed this post!

  1. Being teased because of your ears must've been frustrating. Fortunately, surgery like Otoplasty is available for everyone nowadays. If it can help you be more confident about yourself, then I say that it was worth it. Anyway, I’m glad that you had a successful surgery. I'll pray for your speedy recovery! Take care!

  2. So when we look at all these definitions of beauty from the mediaeval ages to this present moment, there exists no possible explanation or definition to beauty. There is only exploitation of it for personal endeavours. how much cbd bath bomb
