Review: Rouge Louboutin Nail Varnish by Christian Louboutin

Calling all shoe & beauty addict's its here FINALLY!
The shoe & beauty lover that I am, this is my fave beauty product of the year so far!

Shoe designer extraordinaire Christian Louboutin has created Beaute Louboutin, a beauty range started with of course Rouge Louboutin, A nail lacquer the exact same red as his iconic red sole.
I've waited for this for, what feels like a lifetime! So when I got the email with its release I was straight online. Ive had this product for a few weeks now so good time to test it out.

Firstly the packaging and bottle itself, a HUGE bottle with a sleek elegant brush, at first when I saw that the spike is part of the brush I thought how on earth am I going to be able to paint my nails with this, turns out its actually pretty easy and I prefer a longer handle to a shorter one. It comes in a small back box that encloses the faceted glass bottle. A beautiful dressing table piece.

Now onto the look and finish of the actual nail varnish, I was expecting it to be amazing and really hoped it would live upto the expectation I had and it not only did it live up to it but definitely exceeded my expectation!
The nail varnish arrived the morning I had to go to work, I already had on some Bio Sculpture gel that needed to come off however, I couldn't resist doing a quick coat on my nails just to see the colour. One coat was amazing it dried in normal nail varnish drying time, I had a full day at work opening a 6 box delivery and doing makeup all day and not one chip and there wasn't even a top coat on! I was so impressed.

ROUGE LOUBOUTIN £36.00
Available from the Christian Louboutin Website

So then took my gel off and done them properly, 2 coats a perfect red and I had it on 2 full weeks before I needed to change it! I am over the moon with the Rouge Louboutin and can't wait for him to extend the Beaute Louboutin range.. red lipstick next please?!

Happy Nail painting!

Wish-list Fall '14

Apologies for not posting sooner! I know its been a while and as autumn is forever getting closer I thought Id do my fall wishlist! a few of these products I've wanted for a while now and are more staple items than one-off's so here goes:

1. Black leather ankle boot by Acne £330 / High street option 'TOBY' By Kurt Geiger £140
A classic black ankle boot like this will never go out of fashion so definitely something to invest in.

2. Leather backpack by Topshop £80.00
As i'm going to university in september I've been looking more at backpacks than handbags they just seem so much more practical and allot easier to carry this one from Topshop is slightly more expensive because its real leather but you can get faux leather ones for allot cheaper if you don't really want to invest in one.

3. Mensy Blazer by Boutique at Topshop £120
This is in my wish list purely because I wore my last blazer/jacket to death and it was the best money I ever spent, you can get cheaper versions of this but as a tall girl this one fits perfectly for my height. With the cheaper ones I've found them not to fit quite right and be way too small on the arms.

4. Cut out trainers by Chanel £590
Okay I know these are soooo expensive but i just think they are soooooo beautiful! and I can't find a high street copy ANYWHERE! so if anyone knows please comment or email me and let me know!

5. Straight fit cotton shirt MM6 by Maison Martin Margiela £310
The classic white shirt that every woman should own but with a bit of a quirky twist definatly a fall must have. High street option form & Other Stories £13! In the sale so be quick.

6. Chanel Rouge Coco hydrating lip colour in 'Sentiment' £25
Because who doesn't need a Chanel nude?

7. Charlotte tilbury Super Model body £45
This is like Victoria Secret model skin in a tube! Im lucky that one of my closest friends Charley is the business manager for Charlotte Tilbury at Selfridges Birmingham where I work, so its only a short wonder from the NARS counter to go and see whats new, and when she showed me this OMG its got toning and sculpting ingredients and is he most beautiful glow on skin I've ever seen! with party season soon approaching this is a definite must have!

8. Hydra Beauty nutrition face creme by Chanel £55
This was a tough one as I have a few favourite moisturisers and my next beauty blog will be a skincare blog. However this is an amazing moisturiser especially if like me over the summer your skin has become dehydrated from all the sun and fun. I like hydrating moisturisers but not ones that feel sticky on the skin and this one is perfect, I would definitely recommend.

9. Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes £22
I haven't tried this yet but I've read so much about it and my friend Charley, who I mentioned above, showed me her lashes with it on and They looked so long and thick but not dry which is hard to find in a lengthening mascara.

Now, numbers 10&11 I need your help I'm looking for firstly some delicate necklaces with the Hand of Fatima symbol on that don't cost the earth and secondly a lacy triangle bra that again isn't going to cost me £80+ I have found some bra's but they are so expensive so I am on the hunt for both of these items still!

A NARS Explosion! New launches overview

Spring is here, and this May is a very exiting time for us at NARS!
Especially in Selfridges Birmingham, we have the launch of the brand new beauty hall and lots of events going on (more information at Selfridges.com
April was the launch of all or new Artistry Brushes which I will be blogging about after this blog post and to follow such an amazing launch are the brand new Matte multiples, Contour blushes, new lip glosses AND summer collection! This is a brief overview of all things new to NARS!

-

First up is the new Matte Multiples and the first question everyone is asking is why are they smaller than the other multiples but still the same price? This was a question I asked first too, however do not worry as the new matte texture is such a rich creamy consistency saturated with colour you need a lot less product, therefore you don't get through them as fast as the other ones.
For those who don't know matte multiples are a soft creamy product for lips and cheeks that can be used wet or dry to create a flawless, seamless, matte pop of colour. These beauties come in 8 easy to wear shades and can be applied 2 different ways, personally I prefer to use them dry as you get a more intense colour on the face. You can also use them wet simply by wetting your finger and then patting on colour for more of a sheer finish.

My must have matte multiples for me and what I've found I am using most on customers are:
Altai (medium brown): For a beautiful contour on light/medium skin.
Siam (bright coral): Amazing on any skin tone light or dark for an intense pop of colour.
Exumas (Peachy coral): A perfect peach again fabulous on anyone for a light pop of colour.

-

Next is for me the most exiting launch so far this year the absolutely AMAZING contour blush pallets these babies are incredible there are 3 different shades Olympia, Paloma and Gienah. Inside you'll find a large contour powder and a highlight powder, Now don't be confused this isn't a bronzer this is a contour powder so used for sculpting and shaping your face, if you are looking for a more all over bronzed look try using Laguna or Casino bronzing powder by NARS. If you are unsure about contouring and how to do it I will be doing a contour blog post too. These powders are thicker than a normal powder so again like all NARS products you don't need loads and loads just build it up in thin layers if you desire a darker look, this way of contouring is fool proof with how easy the powders blend together streaky highlights and contours will be a thing of the past.
Top: Olympia
Left: Paloma
Right: Gienah
Works well with: Altai matte multiple, brushed over the top for a super intense contour, move over Kim Kardashian!

Last but not least is the reformulation and packaging of all of the NARS lip glosses and the New summer collection. The glosses are 100x better than before luxury soft non sticky formula and no smell to them makes them perfect, with some glittery, some shimmery and some just plain colour the new range keeps all the NARS gloss favourites. Turkish delight, Wonder, Orgasm and more, with the addition of some amazing new colours you have to get yourself to a counter to see these as photos just don't do them justice!

SUMMER! The NARS summer collection launched 1st May here in the UK and is now on counters all over the UK. After having a mess around with this collection it definitely screams summer goddess. The new liquid illuminator 'hot sand' is my favourite product from the collection, a peachy champagne colour perfect for a summery glow. Once I have played around with this collection more I plan to do a whole blog about it with swatches and in depth reviews about each product.

Thats it from me all the products are available from NARS cosmetics but I do urge you all to come to a counter so you can try the products yourself and see how amazing they are, there will be blogs following this one with more in-depth reviews, swatches and how to's.

Happy shopping!

Beauty Post: My Ear Surgery

As most people know I work in the beauty industry and will soon be starting a degree in fashion and sometimes being constantly surrounded by beautiful people with perfect features and perfect bodies can make you become more aware of how you look.

Since I've known what ears were I've always hated mine, they weren't big in size however they did used to stick out allot. When you're a beauty junkie like me planning hairstyles around covering your ears really isn't all that fun and constantly being called 'dumbo' as a kid also isn't all that fantastic either!
So after all my teenage years of hating my ears, trying all kinds of headbands and even gluing my ears to my head! I decided to have some surgery to put them in the right place.

Despite what people may think no, the procedure does not stick you're ears to your head, It is called an Otoplasty. It simply removes a small area of skin, reshapes the cartilage and stitches them back up into the new shape, all whilst either keeping or re shaping the creases and folds in the ear.

I chose to have my surgery with the Hospital Group after many different consultations and review reads. My Surgeon was the amazing Dr Payne (ironic I know) amazing cosmetic surgeon with a long list of surgeries, including Amy Childs boob job!, and one of the nicest people I've ever met. He was so thorough and understanding throughout the whole consultation and on the day of surgery.

I chose to have a local anaesthetic, so yes I was awake for the surgery. However Mr Payne and his nurses made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. The surgery took just over an hour to do then into recovery I went and I was home by 7:00pm that same evening, with ALLOT of painkillers!

After he had finished the surgery I was all taped up for 8 days in this rather beautiful bandage pictured below, the injections had made my face go a bit puffy so thats why I look a bit like an alien :)

Here are some pictures of before and right after my surgery.

These Photo's were before and then 8 days later when my bandages came off. The photograph at the bottom is as soon as my bandages were off so still swollen and bruised, the photo below that is my ear now 4 weeks after my procedure.

I couldn't be happier with the service I received from the Hospital group and Mr Payne if I ever have any more surgery in the future it will 1000% be with him. This has made me a more confident person and I don't have a single complaint. But only ever have surgery for YOU to make you feel better and happier. Its allot of pain and money so I do recommend and I am a supporter of cosmetic procedures but only for the right reason and that being to make YOU a happier person!

I hope you all enjoyed this post!

Beauty Post: REVITALASH & BROW

My latest fascination is lashes! Especially with summer creeping up on us everyone wants to have the perfect flutter! I myself, as I'm sure many of you too, have had major disasters in the past. With lash extensions, false lashes and lengthening mascara's promising to give us the best outcome sometimes It gets so tedious.

So with careful consideration I have decided to try Revitalash! A serum you apply once before you go to bed to your lashes to create think, strong long lashes.
I was extremely optimistic about this when it first hit the market and as its allot more expensive than your average Eyelure falsies.
But was I missing out! I have lots of friends that use this product and the results on all of them have been amazing. Ranging from fair blonde hair, to thick dark hair so I had to try it.

I suppose this is sort of an ongoing blog in a few weeks I will post some before and after pictures to show you guys if this product works on me and what I think of it.

To add to my excitement even more I got such a deal on these products I bought them from QVC, I got a full sized Revitalash and a double ended Revitalash and Revitabrow serum for just 80.00GBP when a single Revitalsh serum on its own is over 40.00GBP it seemed well worth the price.

In the set you also get a Revitabrow serum which is the same sort of thing but just for the brows!
Cara brow's and false look lashes here I come!

Get yours from QVC here: QVCUK.com Revitalash & brow offer!

Spring/Summer '14 BeautyTrends!

Its that time of year again, everyones makeup bag is in need of a revamp after the party season, but hold on to that loose glitter that you spontaneously bought for your works christmas party and thought you'd never use again because like likes of Chanel and Margiela have kept the trend going!
Here are my favourite spring/summer 2014 beauty looks straight from the catwalk.

First up is a light shimmery sparkly eye, nothing too dark and intense more of a sweep of a light glitter, but we have seen intense with liner by Chanel and bejeweled masks from Margiela at Paris fashion week (below). If you are brave enough 100% go for a strong glitter liner underneath, Urban Decay and Jemma Kidd do some really bright glitter liners.

But for a more wearable gentle shimmer try a loose pigment my two faves are Illamasqua's Pure pigment eye shadow in Beguile, really beautiful on a paler skin tone. Secondly MAC's Loose pigment pot in Naked, which is brilliant on any skin tone especially a more tanned or darker skin tone, this kind of eye look only needs a bit of mascara and a well defined brow and you are good to go!

Illamasqua Pigment eyeshadow in Beguile RRP 16.50GPB (Left).
MAC Pigment Pot in Naked RRP 17.00GBP (Right).
-

Number 2 is a bronzed glowing complexion, everyone loves a fresh face and last spring was all about pinks however this year to team with the naked fresh glittery eye look a bronzed glow is essential. Not too heavy base just a light tinted moisturiser or medium coverage foundation, try NARS Sheer Glow or NARS Pure radiant tinted moisturiser, and buff in these perfect bronzers!
Laguna powder bronzer a best seller for NARS and it's not hard to see why! This semi matte medium brown bronzer is perfect for every skin tone to add a natural bronze radiance. Or if semi matte is just too matte for you try the super intense Laguna liquid illuminator for a super dewy 'fresh off the beach' look.

Laguna Liquid illuminator RRP 22.00GBP
Laguna Powder Bronzer RRP 26.00GPB

Last but definitely not least is the coral lip and the lavender lip! Hot bright lips BIG trend this spring/summer! If you are paler or just not a 'bright lip person' the lavender lip is one for you subtle, soft yet eye catching candy lavender lips are a MASSIVE trend this Spring. The iconic summertime coral lip is also back, bright orange lips and a bronzed complexion go hand in hand so next time you're shopping at NARS grab a Laguna with your satin lip pencil & gloss and you're set to go all summer!

NARS Satin lip pencil in Timanfaya (Coral) RRP 18.00GBP
NARS Larger than life glosses in Bimini (Coral) and Annees Follies (Lavender) RRP 19.00GBP.

Scented Nail Varnish & Balmain Varnish Blog!

At the moment its all about nails! Ciate held the crown for innovative nail design with there many amazing nail textures, caviar, felt, sequins, beads but have revlon stolen it?

-

First of the Nail Varnishes Ive heard allot about are scented nail varnish. With new beauty ranges from designers i.e. Michael Kors , I thought Id look into it a little more. I came across an article in Vogue recently about Revlon launching new scented nail polishes! Exiting I know, unfortunately they wont be avalible until march at selected Boots stores priced at around 6.49 each so purse friendly! There will be 20 shades split into 3 different fragrance groups, with colours relevant to the scents, loads better than the usual chemical smell from nail varnish and looks like they will be lots of fun, cant wait to try one out.

-

Next up again within the nail varnish theme, if you're a luxury brand lover like me then you will have heard about Balmain's nail varnish line that came out in late 2013, I've heard so much about these nail varnishes especially the nude, available from This is beauty mart < click the link to shop, you can buy them individually or as a set for around 40.00 GBP, these are definitely on my spring wish list.

GLOWING SKIN! Makeup Blog!

Hi everyone! As a makeup artist I get asked ALOT about how to get a glowing radiant complexion and so I've decided to do this blog with my top 5 glowy skin makeup must haves!

My first is by NARS famous for their beautiful highlighting products and its called Copacabana. You can buy this product in two different formulas first for more precise highlighting is a multiple stick which you can buy in many different colours but Copacabana is the best seller. Glides on smoothy over foundation so your cheekbones glow in all the right places

RRP 30.00 GBP

RRP 22.00 GBP

However the for a more all over glow you can buy this colour in a liquid illuminator, just squeeze a pea sized amount into your hand and mix with your foundation for a beautiful natural brightness, even if you don't wear foundation both of these products are perfect for a natural dewy finish.
Next up for a more bronzed glow I would definitely recommend Sun beam by Benefit brilliant on any skin tone its lightweight and perfectly golden!

RRP 19.50 GBP
Now the next two products I've chosen are the more hardcore highlighters, for a stronger more obvious look - my personal favourite.

First up of the Hardcore Highlighters is another NARS product which is undoubtedly the best highlighter I've used, its called Albatross, to look at in the pan it just looks like a white powder but when applied has a beautiful golden shimmer through it, AMAZING product you must try!

RRP 21.50 GBP

Last but not least Is by Sleek, super affordable drugstore brand at only 6.49 this is a steal, and lasts forever. Glo face and body highlighter powder is available in three shades 'peachy shimmer', 'gold digga' and 'bronze baby' peachy shimmer looks beautiful on the eyes as well as the face and body would definitely recommend.

RRP 6.49 GBP

 Happy Highlighting
